See where the time goes — while keeping the data in your hands.
MonBuddy shows when computers are active, which applications and websites are used, and — when needed — provides screenshots or a live view. The system runs on your local network, so detailed data is not sent to MonBuddy or another external provider.
Facts instead of guesswork.
Business leaders gain a clearer view of operations, while parents get an understandable picture of computer use. Only people you authorise can access the details.
When was the computer active?
The timeline shows active and idle periods and which applications were used. This makes it easier to see where the day slipped or when work was interrupted.
What was on the screen?
Screenshots can be taken at intervals you choose. They are encrypted on the monitored computer and stored only in your own system.
What is happening right now?
When needed, you can view up to four computers live. You must start the live view yourself, and it does not create a continuous video archive.
Which applications and websites take up the time?
MonBuddy summarises applications and opened web addresses. Your own categories can highlight what counts as work, study or content that needs attention.
Is monitoring working?
If an active computer stops sending data, the system creates a separate alert. You do not have to guess from an incomplete report whether the computer was off or monitoring had stopped.
Who can see what?
Separate permissions can be assigned to administrators, operators and view-only users. Accounts can also be protected with two-factor authentication (2FA), while the access log shows who opened each computer’s data.
Who arrived on time?
Attendance reports measure arrival, departure and overtime against your work schedules, by computer or by employee, with Excel, CSV and PDF export.
How productive was the day?
Label programs and websites, and MonBuddy calculates a daily productivity score and trend – by your rules, on your own server.
Which team, which rules?
Departments get their own screenshot, live view, alert and schedule rules, and department managers see only their own people.
The key difference: your data stays with you
MonBuddy does not collect detailed data in an external monitoring cloud. Storage, access and deletion are managed on your own server, under your own rules.
- Screenshots, web addresses and usage events stay within your own network.
- Only licence checks and signed updates go outside; computer-use data does not.
- An offline licence is available for fully isolated networks with no internet access.
- The EU profile does not allow covert operation, recording keystroke content, or webcam and microphone use.
How the information reaches you
The monitored Windows computers send data to your own MonBuddy server, and you review it in a browser.
Monitored computers
A Windows program running in the background records the selected data and communicates only with the local MonBuddy server.
Your own MonBuddy server
It receives the data, stores it in encrypted form and deletes it after the configured period. You remain in control of the server.
Browser interface
Here you can see summaries, computers, alerts and — depending on permissions — screenshots or the live view.
