Who can see the data, and how is it protected?

Data still needs protection even when it stays locally. MonBuddy helps with encryption, separate permissions, access logs and automatic status checks.

Images are encrypted on the computer

Screenshots do not travel across the network as open image files and are not stored that way on the server. Live images are decrypted only while being viewed and then discarded; no continuous video archive is created.

An alert if monitoring stops

MonBuddy regularly checks whether the computer and its monitoring program are available. If the computer is on but no data arrives, a separate event alerts the operator.

Verified licence and installation

Digital signatures help verify that the licence is genuine and the installer is intact. An online licence is tied to a specific local installation; a grace period of up to 15 days is available during a temporary internet outage.

Permissions and traceable access

Separate roles, PIN lock and optional two-factor authentication (2FA) limit who can view or change information. The access log records who opened each computer’s data, while retention rules automatically remove expired data.
